2008 FRC Remote Kickoff at NJIT
The 2008 FRC Remote Kickoff at NJIT, also known as the starting point for the 2008 FRC season, will be taking place Saturday, January 5, 2008. The New Jersey Institute of Technology will host approximately 30 teams at their Campus Center, Teams will be watching a broadcast presentation hosted on NASA TV or as a webcast streamed from the NASA website. Following the webcast, teams will divide and attend several workshops to prepare them for the build season.

Cancellation in the Event of Inclement Weather:
In the event of adverse weather conditions, please call (973) 596-3234 for details starting at 6:00am. Arrangements to pick up your Kit of Parts will be made for Monday, January 7th if necessary.

Breakfast and Lunch:
A reasonably priced selection of breakfast, lunch, and refreshment items will be available for purchase from the NJIT student dining services throughout the day. In order to make this convenience available, NJIT is opening its dinning facilities just for our event at a time when it is normally closed. All attendees are therefore encouraged to patronize the NJIT dinning services.
Workshops:
A set of approximately 12 workshops will be offered at the NJIT kickoff event. They will be split into two sessions, the first from 12:15pm to 1:15pm and the second from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Upon arrival and registration of your team at the kickoff, your team will be assigned to one of two groups and given a workshop schedule. Though there is no limit on how many students may attend each workshop, please be courteous and save room so every team has a chance to participate.

Kit of Parts Distribution:
Kit distribution will take place between 12:00pm and 3:00pm only. You are encouraged to bring hand trucks, dollies, or strong young hands to assist getting the kits to your vehicle. There will be 2 plastic crates of approx 80 pounds each and 2 or 3 cardboard boxes.
Team Attendance:
Please click here for a list of confirmed teams for the 2008 FRC Remote Kickoff at NJIT. The number of people (students and adults) attending the Kickoff may not exceed the number initially indicated in your registration. Please note, in any case, no more team may bring more than 20 people.
