Be an Event Volunteer
New York City / New
Jersey FIRST events are entirely volunteer-driven. You
can help with team and media registration, VIP hospitality,
awards, scoring, audience and robot traffic, or be a field
attendant or referee. With events all over New York City
and New Jersey, it’s easy to volunteer near where
you live or work.
For any positions that require prior knowledge of competition
rules, FIRST will provide you with the training and appropriate
learning materials in advance.
FIRST LEGO League Tournaments
FIRST LEGO League
Tournaments are family-oriented, fun-filled festivals at
which teams of 9-14 year olds demonstrate their technical
prowess and presentation skills. Spend a Saturday or Sunday
as a volunteer. FLL Tournaments take place all over New
York City and New Jersey.
FIRST Tech Challenges
Spend a day helping run a FIRST
Tech Challenge involving 20-30 high school teams engaged
in the “hands-on - minds-on” process of
technological innovation.
FIRST Robotics Competitions
Be part of FIRST’s “Super
Bowl of Smarts.” Spend one, two, or three days
in March helping to celebrate the achievements of teams
of high school students working smart in science and technology.
